MASK® & CAFFEINE

In early 2020, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) determined maximum levels for caffeine for the first time in a preliminary assessment.

For healthy adults, single doses of up to 200 milligrams of caffeine (equivalent to 2-3 cups of coffee or 2.5 cans of energy drink) do not pose a health risk if drunk within a short period of time.

Caffeine levels in comparison

° 1 cup (150 milliliters) of coffee: 50-100 milligrams depending on the strength

° 1 espresso: 50-60 milligrams

° 1 glass (200 milliliters) of cola drink: 30 milligrams

° 1 can (250 milliliters) energy drink: 80 milligrams of caffeine

° 1 whole milk chocolate (100 grams): 3-35 milligrams

MASK® & SPORT

Energy drinks are not sports drinks and have no rehydrating effects. In its scientific opinion on the safety of caffeine in food *, the EFSA comes to the conclusion that up to 200 mg of caffeine from all food sources - including energy drinks - are harmless if this amount is consumed less than two hours before intense physical activity.

MASK® & ALCOHOL

Energy drinks are caffeinated, non-alcoholic soft drinks that, like many other non-alcoholic drinks, are occasionally mixed with alcoholic beverages.

In its scientific opinion on the safety of caffeine in food *, the EFSA states that there is no evidence of an adverse interaction between energy drinks or caffeine and alcohol. In addition, current scientific research shows that mixing energy drinks and alcohol does not lead to higher alcohol consumption compared to drinking alcohol alone.

It is important to know, however, that the consumption of energy drinks in combination with alcohol does not affect the effects of alcohol!

RECYCLING

But as we all know, the appearance also counts and therefore MASK® Energy is presented in a 100% recyclable guise. Because aluminum can be recycled again and again.
